Allied Health/Technical
Meeting a rapidly growing need with care
It has been estimated that allied health professionals make up 60 percent of the total health workforce—with need for these expert practitioners projected to grow. At Baptist Health System, we’re staffing proactively with accredited individuals to meet these needs.
Allied health professionals generally fall into two categories: technicians, who are trained to perform numerous procedures, usually as assistants who require two years of education; and therapists/technologists, who require more extensive education and often diagnose patients and develop treatment plans. Working together, these groups provide a wide range of diagnostic, technical, therapeutic and direct patient care and support services, among which include:
- Cardiovascular perfusion technology
- Cytotechnology
- Diagnostic medical sonography
- Dietetics
- Emergency medical sciences
- Health administration
- Health information management
- Medical technology
- Nuclear medicine technology
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Radiation therapy technology
- Radiography
- Rehabilitation counseling
- Respiratory therapy
- Speech language pathology and audiology
